Sustainable Sound (aka lowRes)

In 2008 I received a grant to create Sustainable Sound, a pedal powered sound system/music stage.

Many people wouldn’t believe such a large, clear sound was powered by pedaling.

But, when they stopped pedaling, the music stopped.

The directness and intensity of the experience made it surprising and memorable.

No need to plug into the wall, or fill up a gas tank.

Alternative Energy can make things inherently better.

I want to demonstrate to people that alternative energy is more Promise than compromise.

to enable free, reliable power for projects.

Interactive, public, electro-kinetic art that works for decades.

If we learn to decentralized at least some of our energy generation we will solve many problems especially in times of disaster.

All the energy we use on earth (aside from nuclear and geothermal) is Solar.

Oil is stored Solar energy.

Plants and Dinosaurs grown in the Sun’s energy decomposed to hydrocarbons.

Even the wind is essentially solar powered.

Food is raised with Solar power, and people are powered by food. Let’s Go.

Sustainable Sound doesn’t need Fuel, just pedal and solar power!
